An Antigua sailing day is the simplest, most rewarding short charter on the island. We leave Jolly Harbour or English Harbour mid-morning, sail along the leeward coast picking up the trade winds, and drop anchor at one of three or four secluded bays for a long swim, lunch aboard, and a slow afternoon.

The classic route runs north from Jolly Harbour past Pigeon Beach and Hermitage Bay to Deep Bay, where the wreck of the Andes lies in 30 ft of water for a snorkel. From English Harbour the route is south — Carlisle Bay, Rendezvous Bay, and around the windward coast in settled weather. Either route ends back at the dock by sunset.

These are private charters. The yacht is yours for the day — your party, your pace, your music. The crew handles the sailing, the cooking, the timing. You decide which bays to anchor in and how long to stay.

Highlights of this charter

Leeward-coast anchorages

Pigeon Beach, Hermitage Bay, Deep Bay — three sheltered bays within a 90-minute sail of Jolly Harbour, each different in feel.

Snorkelling at the Andes wreck

A schooner that sank in Deep Bay in 1905. Lies upright in 30 ft of clear water — the prop and rudder visible from the surface.

Lunch aboard

Fresh local fish, salads, fruit, and a good wine. Simple, quiet, and timed to whichever anchorage you have settled into.

Sunset return

Most days end with the run back into the harbour at golden hour — the best light on Antigua's south coast.

Before you enquire

What time does the day start?

Usually 10am at the marina. We can move earlier or later by request — sunset charters start around 4pm.

Can we choose the route?

Yes. We sketch the day with you in advance based on weather and your preferences. The captain has discretion to change anchorages on the day if conditions warrant.

Is food and drink included?

Yes — lunch aboard, snacks, soft drinks, and a thoughtful selection of wine and beer. Special dietary needs (vegetarian, gluten-free, allergies) accommodated with notice.

What if it rains?

Antigua's leeward coast is sheltered from the trades and rain showers usually pass quickly. If conditions look genuinely poor, we will reschedule at no charge.
