Our home port — 365 beaches, English Harbour's Georgian dockyard, and the most reliable sailing in the Caribbean.

Best time to sail

December through May (settled trades). January and February are peak season; April-May offer the same weather with fewer boats.

Antigua is the kind of island that earned its reputation: easy trade winds, sheltered bays on every coast, and a sailing tradition that stretches from Nelson's Dockyard in the 18th century to today's Antigua Sailing Week. We base our fleet here because the cruising is unmatched — you can move a yacht around the entire island in a single day, with a fresh anchorage every hour.

Charters out of Antigua start at our home base in Jolly Harbour or English Harbour. Day sails take in the leeward beaches — Pigeon Beach, Hermitage Bay, Deep Bay, Half Moon Bay — with quiet swim stops most yachts on the island never reach. Multi-day routes loop south to Falmouth and Carlisle Bay, then around the windward coast for guests who want a real passage.

Antigua is also the cleanest jumping-off point in the Caribbean. Every other island in the Leewards is within 80 nautical miles. Barbuda is a 4-hour reach, St. Kitts an overnight, Guadeloupe a long day. Most charters open with a private transfer to the marina and a captain's briefing aboard — guests are at anchor by sundown on day one.

Anchorages

English Harbour

Hurricane-hole anchorage and the spiritual home of Caribbean sailing. Nelson's Dockyard a short tender ride away — provisioning, fuel, and the best evening views of the fleet.

Falmouth Harbour

Wide, well-protected bay just west of English Harbour. Easy walk between the two via the historic Lookout. Mooring balls available; we book in peak season.

Hermitage Bay

Quiet leeward anchorage on the west coast. Pink-tinged sand, no road access, and only one resort behind the dunes — popular swim and lunch stop.

Deep Bay

Sheltered crescent on the northwest coast, with a wreck of the Andes lying in 30 ft of clear water — a favourite for snorkelling.

Ashore

Nelson's Dockyard

UNESCO World Heritage Georgian dockyard at the head of English Harbour. Restaurants, the Admiral's Inn, and walking trails up to Shirley Heights for sunset views.

Shirley Heights Sunday BBQ

The legendary Sunday-evening barbecue and steel-pan session above English Harbour. Best sunset on the island — we tie up in the harbour and walk up.

Pigeon Beach

Walking-distance from Falmouth Harbour, a low-key public beach with two beach bars and the best view of the racing fleets in season.
