Scope of Required Knowledge and Skills

Yacht's Construction
- Knows the basic parts of yacht: Cockpit, Billings, Heads, Galley, Bow, Stern, Hull, Mast, Rigging, Sail
- Can operate elementary yacht's systems: Trekis, Toilet room, Galley, Plumcell
- Can fill up the water and diesel tanks
- Can operate the inboard engine: Ignition, Switch off, Check cooling system, Check fuel & steering

Line and Spring Handling
- Can combine two lines of the same and different diameter
- Can make: Bowline, Hitch a line on a cleat, Hitch on a stand, Coil mooring lines
- Clove knot, Take, Needs tied on dock, Sheet cleaning lines
- Can describe different ways of lashing a mooring

Handling Sail Sheets and Halyards
- Ease, set and bring down the sails
- Reef down and shake off the reefs

Handling Fenders
- Can tie fenders on the yacht
- Effectively operate the (dis)mounting fender

Operating the Anchor
- Prepare anchor for weighing (switches and controls)
- Operate the windlass (letting out and raising the chain)

Operating the Dinghy
- Inflate the dinghy or the deck and put it when in the deck
- Secure the dinghy to the yacht
- Use paddles effectively
- Secure the dinghy to the stand

Safety
- Knows how's helped the deck
- Use the safety equipment
- Use the defense signaling equipment (pyrotechnics, mirror, flags etc.)
- Can apply hand and torch signaling (flashlights)
- Apply various methods to make a distress signal (at least 4 methods)

Other Skills
- Keep observation of the sailing crew and pass over information
- Knows the lights of that own yacht in the night
- Can swim the needed distance
- Effectively hold the helm
