We sail out of Hondarribia Marina on Txingudi Bay, where Spain meets France and the Pyrenees meet the Atlantic. Cape Higuer, the Jaizkibel cliffs and the harbours of the Basque coast — both sides of the border — are all working water for us.

Every passage out of Hondarribia rounds Cape Higuer. From there you can run west under the Jaizkibel cliffs for Pasaia, San Sebastián and Getaria, or cross the bay into France for Saint-Jean-de-Luz.
